Gone are the days when you only had surgical dermatological treatments at your disposal. Today, you have the alternative of choosing minimally-invasive, non-surgical dermatological solutions to care for your skin.
Dysport is one such treatment. Manufactured using the abobotulinumtoxinA toxin, it is a neuromuscular modulator that inhibits muscle activity and reduces the appearance of frown lines and glabellar lines. When injected into your skin, the injectable targets only those specific muscles which cause the lines and reduces the contraction in the muscles.
Both Botox and Dysport are neuromuscular modulators designed to treat wrinkles and fine lines. But, the way they benefit users is different.
For one, Dysport is a more body-friendly chemical and will stimulate generation of lesser antibodies in the patient compared to Botox; ensuring that your body does not reject the chemical and the effects remain longer.
Second, the constituency of Dysport is such that it spreads easily to larger areas of the skin, when compared to Botox which is thicker. Due to this characteristic of Dysport, doctors only use a single injection to treat multiple areas of the skin.
Finally, extensive studies and clinical testing have proved that Dysport is extremely skin-friendly and safe to use, making it a great choice for people wanting younger, supple skin.
The molecules in Dysport are smaller and the product is more diluted than what is found in BOTOX. The spread when injected into the skin makes it a superior product for certain facial areas.
As BOTOX is thicker, it won’t diffuse as much as Dysport, and the product stays near the injection site. This allows for precise treatment of smaller areas. The diffusion and dilution of each type of injectable can be advantageous depending on the size of the area that needs to be smoothed and rejuvenated, and the depth of fine lines and wrinkles. Despite which you are getting, the staff at ZL will provide you with what many consider the best Dysport Tucson has to offer.
Patients who have deep creases and severe lines on their forehead are the ideal candidates for Dysport. People above the age of 65 and those who have any skin infection or are allergic to Botox are ineligible for the treatment.
The procedure starts with the consultation, where we will analyze your requirements and mark the areas of the face being treated. Then we will apply a topical numbing cream to anesthetize the face.
Next, a thin injection filled with Dysport will be injected into the pre-determined areas of the face. The Dysport, when injected will inhibit the treated muscles from sending and receiving any neural signals, thereby reducing muscle contraction and reducing the wrinkles and glabellar lines.
Please note that the treatment will only reduce the number of fine lines on the face. It will neither cause any complete facial immobility, nor will it change the appearance of your face.
Post-procedure scarring, swelling and bruising are common; and these will reduce over the next few hours. You may also experience tenderness and pain for a few days after the treatment. The best benefit of the Dysport is that you’ll have very little downtime and you’ll be able to move within a few hours of the procedure.
The results of the Dysport can be seen two days after the procedure. Complete wrinkle reduction will happen within a few weeks. The results of the Dysport will last for 3-5 months, after which you may be required to come in for treatment.
