ZL Medspa

If you’re one of the 16 million people who experience rosacea, there are treatments available that can keep it under control and greatly reduce the symptoms, which can include redness, bumps, and visible blood vessels.

About rosacea and sensitive skin

Rosacea is a skin condition that can cause sensitized skin and is characterized by inflamed, red skin around the center of the face. Symptoms can also include visible blood vessels and/or pus-filled bumps. Rosacea can be triggered by a wide variety of things, including alcohol, exercise, makeup or skin products, sun exposure, hot or spicy food or drinks, wind, certain medications, and changes in the weather. Flares can last anywhere from weeks to months; therefore it can be a very frustrating condition. Similarly, sensitive skin causes redness in the complexion and is often the result of a weakened dermal barrier. At ZL Medaesthetics, we manage both conditions with the proper ingredients and treatments to ensure effective outcomes.

VISIA Skin Analysis

VISIA® will allow us to see inflammation under the surface of your skin so we can effectively recommend proper dermal barrier healing products and treatments.

BBL laser

After a series of BroadBand Light™ treatments, new collagen is stimulated to replace damaged skin and improve the visible signs of rosacea.

Chemical peels

This topical procedure can be an excellent option if rosacea isn’t too severe and the right type of chemical peel is chosen.

HydraFacial

HydraFacial® is excellent for addressing the symptoms of rosacea such as bumpy skin, redness, and enlarged pores.

Medical grade skincare

After your VISIA Skin Analysis, our nurse practitioner will choose just the right product(s) for your specific areas of concern regarding your rosacea symptoms.

VISIA Skin Analysis

A consultation with our nurse practitioner using VISIA Skin Analysis is the first step in treating and managing rosacea and sensitive skin. VISIA is an advanced skin evaluation system that examines the skin not only on a surface level, but also at a deep level (0.5 mm into the skin).

It’s an excellent way to assess your skin and determine the best skincare treatment for your needs. The VISIA machine will scan your face, capturing it with different lighting and angles to analyze your skin on multiple levels. Once the images have been taken, we can see inflammation under the surface of your skin and effectively recommend proper dermal barrier healing products and treatments.

Chemical peels

If your rosacea isn’t severe and the right type of chemical peel is chosen (and followed up with the proper treatments and home care), this topical procedure can be an excellent option for you. Some chemical peels will be too harsh for those with rosacea, but the right one has the ability to reduce the appearance of redness and bumps by exfoliating the top layer of skin in order to replace it with brand-new, healthy skin cells. Salicylic acid is often used in chemical peels, and is known to decrease inflammation. Using lower concentrations of alpha and beta hydroxy acids, we can use peels to superficially exfoliate your skin.

BroadBand Light laser

The BroadBand Light (BBL) laser by Sciton® uses a multi-pass approach to treat sensitized skin, with a step designed precisely to target visible vessels, telangiectasias, and flushing. New collagen growth is stimulated to replace damaged skin and improve the visible signs of rosacea.

Typically 1 to 3 treatments are needed, spaced about five weeks apart. BBL laser treatments will involve you wearing protective eye goggles, and a cooling gel will be applied to your skin to keep you comfortable. The laser delivers rapid bursts of light energy directly into the skin, but pain is very minimal. Treatments take approximately 20 minutes, but the exact time will vary. After treatment, the skin is sometimes red for the rest of the day, but there is no downtime.

HydraFacial

It’s no surprise that HydraFacial is one of our most requested treatments. As an incredibly effective medical grade facial, it’s great for addressing the symptoms of rosacea such as bumpy skin, redness, and enlarged pores. It also flushes the skin with healing antioxidant-rich serum, which soothes and comforts the skin. When used in addition to other treatments, Hydrafacial has the ability to make a lot of improvement for rosacea issues.

HydraFacial treatments are customizable for all skin types and conditions, with patient comfort always in mind. Our certified providers will perform a skin analysis before every treatment in order to properly apply the optimal products for you, so that you leave our center with glowing, non-irritated skin.

A HydraFacial often takes as little as 30 minutes, and there’s no downtime involved. For optimal results, we recommend six weekly treatments followed by maintenance treatments every 2 to 4 weeks for enhanced outcome.

Medical grade skincare

It’s important to get the most out of active ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, glycolic acid, phosphatidylserine, and salicylic acids — but unfortunately, over-the-counter skincare products are not made with the highest amount of these ingredients. For someone who has rosacea, typically a drugstore product isn’t going to cut it. That’s where medical grade skincare can make a world of difference.

At ZL Medaesthetics, we offer a variety of excellent medical grade products from Alastin® Skincare and SkinCeuticals®.

These products include a very high amount of active ingredients which makes them very effective, and their components have been carefully chosen and approved by medical professionals in order to get the most out of them, to properly go hand-in-hand with the other ingredients, and to last longer than over-the-counter products.

After your VISIA Skin Analysis, our Nurse Practitioner will choose just the right product(s) for your specific areas of concern regarding your rosacea symptoms. Our goal is to get your skin calm and healthy-looking. We focus on dermal barrier-repairing ingredients in the products we recommend for rosacea and sensitive skin so that you can see improvement between our treatments.
